Relational Freedom
Exodus 20:2-3 | Wed, Feb 26, 2025 | Pastor Terrell Taylor

Experiencing relational freedom is a result of setting healthy boundaries while depending on Christ as our ultimate relationship. Our ability to resolve conflict will help us live in harmony with others and allow us to be peace makers. Being a part of a Christian community is another important part of relational freedom because we learn how to grow in our gifts and in our calling.

Emotional Freedom
Proverbs 25:28 | Wed, Feb 12, 2025 | Pastor Terrell Taylor

Experiencing emotional freedom is a result of controlling our emotions and recognizing them as an essential part of our lives. Our ability to steward our emotions is a gift from God, as we seek to know Him more and share our hearts with Him through prayer. Christian fellowship is another important part of emotional freedom, as we journey with fellow believers and help one another grow in emotional maturity.

Unbroken
Mark 4:35-41 | Sun, Jan 26, 2025 | Pastor Terrell Taylor

Just like Louie Zamperini, the Apostle Paul, and the Lord Jesus, we face storms in this life. We too are hated by an enemy who wants to see us defeated. We too face hardships and difficulties that seem impossible to overcome. But in the end, we win! Because Jesus was unbroken, we will never be broken again.

Mental Freedom
Philippians 4:8 | Wed, Jan 22, 2025 | Pastor Terrell Taylor

Remember, analyzing and addressing our thoughts are key components to having excellent mental health. God has given us the blueprint for combating negative forces that try to create disorder in our minds. When we take control of our thought life and bring every thought under the obedience of Christ, we will experience a mental freedom like we’ve never known before.

Spiritual Freedom
Titus 2:11-12 | Wed, Jan 15, 2025 | Pastor Terrell Taylor

Is there one spiritual discipline/grace that could “reboot” your spiritual life? For example, you may want to use the time you spend reading the Bible to meditate and memorize passages. Spend quiet time praying using ACTS. Perhaps you could try a “trial run” twelve hour fast of only liquids, spending time focusing on prayer. Consider serving others in a way that gives you no credit. Choose not to purchase “things” just because you can. Plan to add or improve on another discipline/grace each subsequent week or month. And as you do, your God will seem nearer, your contentment will intensify, and the joy of serving others will be more rewarding.

Great Joy
Luke 2:8-15 | Mon, Dec 16, 2024 | Pastor Lou Reynolds

On this third Sunday of Advent, we see that the coming of Jesus causes great joy. A joyless world is crying out for joy — desperate for a reason to have abiding cheer and deep contentment. As believers living the joyful life in their midst is one of our greatest witnessing tools. When the world is being laid low by hopelessness and despair, we are not. We have great joy because of Good News!

For All the People PT1
Luke 2:8-15 | Wed, Dec 11, 2024 | Pastor Terrell Taylor

You might not be a shepherd, but all of this is for you, too. This peace is for you. On this second Sunday of Advent, we see that the coming of Jesus allows for a turning away from shame and disgrace. His coming instead allows for a turning toward peace. He came for the lowly shepherds, and he came for us. Jesus came to bring us peace. A peace within ourselves and a peace between us and God.

Nothing Is Impossible with God
Isaiah 9:6-7 | Wed, Dec 04, 2024 | Pastor Terrell Taylor

During the month of December, it’s a time to remember how Jesus’s coming brought about a great turning for the world. The world had been hounded by hopelessness, shame, great sadness, and the coldness of self-concern and self-preservation. But his coming caused a great turning toward hope, peace, joy, and love. As we explore the angelic messages that were passed along either in the days leading to the holy night of Jesus’s birth or on the holy night itself, we are going to discover that “Nothing is impossible with God.”

Friction in Ourselves.
Romans 12:1-3 | Wed, Nov 27, 2024 | Pastor Terrell Taylor

Most Christians tend to see themselves either as worse than they really are or as better than they really are. You do not often find a person who has found a good balance within themselves to see themselves the way God sees them. We cannot conform to the patterns of this world, because these patterns cause friction within us. We cannot think of ourselves more highly than we ought, because it leads to friction. We must allow our minds to be renewed and refreshed by the spirit of God. We must have a sober self-assessment so that we can live our lives to the fullest.
